SWEET SUBURBIA

This project was a stunning use of suburban space. Our customer wanted to install something that utilized the space of their city lot and also provided some privacy from onlooking neighbors. We first installed a privacy berm for them with trees along the lot line. The berm offered a space to plant some of their favorite flowers, which brought more color into the lot. Not only did this give them the visual and privacy they wanted, but it also served as a way to manage drainage problems from surrounding lots that often flooded their yard.

These customers loved the layout of their backyard, but had no reprieve from the intense sun. They decided to have us install a pergola for them that allowed for just enough sun to come through, while still providing enough shade to keep them from overheating in the summer sun. Under the pergola we installed a one-of-a kind outdoor kitchen space complete with refrigerator, grill, bar seating and storage all topped with the beautiful cream granite.

Off to the side there is a fire pit with a sit wall large enough to host some friends and make some s’mores. Altogether, this project utilizes every space in the yard to create a warm, yet sophisticated feel that welcomes all ages.
